Pre-Assessment Report
 

The Governor's Working Group hired Moody Marine to do an initial survey of the Maine lobster industry to determine whether any barriers existed to achieving full certification by the MSC. Click on the link below to download the full text of the pre-assessment report. 

Meetings will be held around the state during the last month of September to discuss the pre-assessment and hear questions and concerns from Maine lobstermen. The meetings will be held as follows:

 

• 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22nd, Ellsworth Public Library
• 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23rd, Rockland Public Library
• 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24th, Gulf of Maine Research Institute, Portland 

 

Following the meetings, the Working Group will make a decision on whether to pursue full MSC certification, a process and review that could take between 9 months and a year to complete.
